So, things aren’t looking good for a 2013 match. According to correspondence from our exchange program, matches are generally confirmed by the end of June.
We committed early on to apply for a second year if our application wasn’t successful this year. While this is very disappointing, I know we have more opportunities. Any time will be a good time for an exchange.
The positives:
- a second application is much easier to complete than the first
- our capacity for patience has grown significantly since applying
- we have another year:
- to complete projects around the house
- to save for travel while there
- to read and learn about Australia
- to continue enjoying our own cozy home
- to be near family and friends
The challenge will be waiting another year.
Hi, I have a teacher friend in Australia who is looking to do an exchange to Canada. I am not sure if you would be a match, but it may be worth chatting with her. I will give her your web address and email address.
Thanks Suzy – Received a message from her. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the note.
